Battle by the Beach Tournament: Cayman Islands Emerge Victorious

The Battle by the Beach tournament in the Cayman Islands has concluded, and what a thrilling event it was! The Cayman Islands team dominated the competition, finishing undefeated with a perfect 4-0 record. Their outstanding performance crowned them as the undisputed champions of the tournament.

Final Standings:

  1. Cayman Islands (4-0)
  2. Florida (2-2)
  3. Bermuda (0-4)

The Cayman Islands team displayed exceptional skill and teamwork, as evident in their flawless record. Each game was a testament to their hard work, strategic prowess, and athletic excellence. The victory photo captures the essence of their triumph, with the players, coaches, and staff celebrating their well-deserved win.

Florida put up a solid fight, securing the second spot with a 2-2 record. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t surpass the formidable Cayman Islands team. Bermuda, although finishing 0 and 4, continued to improve every game and showed great heart!

This event, supported by notable sponsors such as Coca-Cola and the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage, showcased the vibrant basketball talent within the region. The camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed were truly inspiring, making this tournament a memorable experience for all involved.

Congratulations to the Cayman Islands for their stellar performance and to all teams for their participation. This tournament highlighted the spirit of competition and the love for the game, leaving us eagerly anticipating next year’s event.

National U17 Boys Head to Bulldog Classic

CIBA National U-17 Boys team will get their first dose of US competition this year as the face off against 10 teams in the Nederland Bulldog Classic being held in Port Arthur Texas. This is fruit from CIBA’s partnership with Bringing Back the Glory Tournaments Founder Wanda Bodden, in an effort to give our athletes more exposure and competition as they prepare for FIBA tournaments. Playing at such tournaments also gives them the opportunity to be seen/scouted by US coaches.

The Bulldog Classic has been running for over 50 years and is sure to showcase fierce competition! Our boys look forward to the challenge!
