Warriors are the Kings
The Burger King Warriors swept the National Men’s championship final series 2-0. 🏀🏆🥇🏅
Although the Astos had a few missing pieces due to injury, they were still facing an uphill battle against the undefeated Warriors.
The game began with Astros taking a 9 point lead ahead of Warriors with Davion Cotterell and Jake Whittaker off to a great start. But that lead would be short lived as the Warriors inched away at the points in the second quarter.
The Astros did show a great sign of improvement in game 2 as they lost by 24 points to game 1s 40 point deficit. Perhaps their interim Coach Victor Voot O’Garro can take credit for that as he implemented a lot of pressure on the Warriors regular season top scorer Jerome Narcisse, an adjustment he made after seeing the damage caused by the 6’4 shooting guard in game 1. This left players like DeAndre Simpson, Juawon Ebanks and others no choice but to step up for Burger King.
But Warriors Coach Andrew Wisdom too would instruct his team to apply pressure on Astros trying to keep the ball out of Cotterell’s hands. But this would be a hard task as the relentless scorer is not easy to stop.
After an exchange of baskets from both ends of the floor, the Warriors would slip away and never look back.
At least 5 players were in double digits for BK Warriors: DeAndre Simpson led the charge with 23 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks; Jerome Narcisse followed with 19 points and 3 assists, Juawon Ebanks had 18 points and 3 steals, Collin Anglin held 15 points, 4 steals and 3 assists while Kenval Ebanks added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
For IRG Astros: Davion Cotterell led the squad with 24 points and 3 blocks; Daniel Britton followed with 14 points and 14 rebounds; Jake Whittaker added 12 points and 7 rebounds.
The final score: BK Warriors 94 IRG Astros 70.
